Divine Hats Of Haute Couture Spring 2011.

From the dramatic hats, reminiscent of strokes of paint, of Stephen Jones for Galliano's Dior Haute Couture 2011  to controversial helmet-hats designed by Philip Treacy for Givenchy - I thought Haute Couture Spring 2011 Season was full of divine hats. I am still deliberating which Collection holds #2 place in my heart. #1 is always Dior :-) . The idea of fragile woman-warrior vs. woman-muse (Givenchy), full of romance and  melancholy,  made my mind wonder all the way into Japanese culture of Samurai warriors. Armani Prive hats reminded me of something of outer space, very unusual considering previous Armani Prive Collections.
I have to say, that  Jean Paul Gaultier's punk couture head gear had me absolutely over the top in love with his Collection. He IS, after all, the most anarchist of all Parisian designers! This post is dedicated to the divine hats of Haute Couture 2011. Enjoy spectacular images!:-)

Milaya Anechka, who never sleeps... :)))

Dior really is my number 1 here. I think I didn't get the creative vibe at Givenchy because as much as I loved the clothes (so stunning it took my breath away, although did remind me of previous Givenchy Haute Couture, but it doesn't matter really, I am just being a pain ;) ), I didn't get the hats. It's like Japanese samurai kindergarten. :)

But having said all that, couture hats are, after all, a masterpiece and, because I have no idea how to create anything like this, always feel a little bit surreal and magical to me.

Have a wodnerful week, darling, and please remember to stop and relax from time to time.

P.S. Posted my old DIY on my blog today, so just in case you visit, don't think I've gone crazy and lost my mind. I am just trying to keep everything in one place, both old and new stuff I like. :)

Dearest Anya,
These are all just fantastic, aren't they? I have to say I liked the Armanis the best myself. Really love how the colors of the fabrics are so dark they are almost black! Also, SOOO happy to see purple lips back in fashion! It's my signature color and some years, it is harder to find.

Wishing you a wonderful day! (I see your weather is ick, so please be safe!)

Anya, I loved everything about the Dior show and the hats were truly beautiful! They matched the mood of the clothes perfectly.

I loved the Givenchy collection as the clothes were magnificently made and were imposing with a Japanese origami sort of way, which when added with the hats created the most perfect proportions.

Armani, hmmm I was bit bored as it reminded me of hats done in the eighties.

Gaultier, well what can you say?? wonderfully Gaulieresque!

Hello dear Anya!

There are so many beautiful and innovative designs here...such spectacular hat creations! Perhaps like most, I was completely smitten by these Dior hats when I first saw them! I do believe they represent the such beauty and elegance...and perfectly paired with the gorgeous dresses of the collection. I also LOVED the punk-inspired hats of Jean Paul Gaultier's collection! I also love the last dress here...edgy and pretty at the same time. :)

I hope you are having an amazing week lovely lady!!! Sending you "un mille baci" from Rome!! ♥

My Darling Anya
HUGS...HUGS...Sharing your after death experience was very comforting to me.
Thank you for sharing your experience with me...Leila was Amy's best friend and they are together now, in heaven.
My daughter had an experience very similar to yours when she went into an 8 hour coma, 2 months before she stepped over into the arms of Jesus.
thank you...
i loved the hats...beautiful AS YOUR DARLING SPIRIT IS.
have a sugar sweet day

My favorite is definitely Dior followed by Gaultier. I loved the Givenchy dresses, but I thought the hats were almost too overwhelming and distracting. I prefer hats that are part of the look and don't dominate it.

Oh, and would you believe I actually saw John Galliano today? I'll post about it soon ;-)
