Inspiration Destination: RED!

Do I really need o say more? I have been in love with this color for ages, but this Spring it seems to dominate my closet and my inspiration board in my Atelier.
I have created this little darling velvet and silk hat and named it "Penelope". Do no ask me why. I think the hat whispered its name to me.:-)
Working with red silk and red vintage French veil felt like waking up in Paris. Mind you I actually had o create this hat with 5 pairs of eyes watching my every move. I had many guests in my Atelier recently and some of them came all the way from Germany and Russia to meet me and see me work.:-)
The weekend is here, but I thought I would wish you fantastic Sunday. I promise you Tuesday to launch another fantastic Give Away and let's hope this time Blogger will stay up and running. I never realised how addicted I am to reading my favorite Blogs until this week when Blogger became unavailable for a short period of time.
Enjoy this beautiful images and I hope they will inspire you the same way they inspire me.:-)

Just beautiful, as always, My Dear Anya! I am interested in your comment that the hat told you its name! I am very interested in that! And I too found the downtime of Blogger to be very disconcerting! It was like I had lost the use of my phone or something and wasn't able to be in touch with my friends (not to mention that I am trying to get another blog post up myself this weekend in between baby-sitting my neighbor's dogs!

Best Saturday Night Hugs to You!

Anya this hat is unbelievably stunning. I would wear it in a second, I LOVE it. The French veil is such an incredibly gorgeous aspect....I must admit I have quite the obsession with this style, especially after reading more about it from you!! The bow of red silk is exquisite, and how amazing to have guests all the way from Germany to watch you work! (I would adore the chance to watch you work as well...:) Red is such a passionate colour, I just wish I had more of it! Someday perhaps I will, and I will wear something glamorous paired hopefully with one of Anya Caliendo's utterly divine hats... :) All of these photos are so inspiring, I really am mesmerised by the red skirt in the first photo and 3rd from bottom! So beautiful. I hope you are having the most wonderful weekend, lovely Anya.

Love this color, Anya.

And Penelope, it once again shows your immense talent and sensitivity. It's feminine, glamorous and so covetable.

I love red and have some bright splashes of it in my wardrobe. It adds instant warmth and allure to outfits.

Hope you have a wonderful week ahead.

Fantastic reds.... But red is truly a color for all seasons. And what doesn't it go with? I especially love it with brown or purple. But then I think brown and purple are "neutrals", LOL. I love Penelope and those fabulous shoes in the last photo. I would gladly wear your Penelope, but those shoes are strictly for younger feet!

I actually ran into a milliner at a market this weekend. Although her hats were nowhere near as lovely as yours, simply seeing and trying on the handmade hats made me think of you and get a glimpse of the charm yours must really have in person!

Positively delightful!!! Love Penelope ... and the name is perfect for this charming hat!

If you're interested, I would like to do a post in a couple of months on you and your hats and atelier ... Right now, on Ooh La Frou Frou, I have been doing a review of each of the personalities of the eight girls that star in the card line ... sometime before the post, if you could maybe let me know which of your hats you think fits the personality of each of the girls, I'll do an illustration of a couple of the hats on them as well as show a photo of all of the hats you think is perfect for them! We have a little time, as I have enough several more posts in this Glamorous Review series ... you can e-mail me if you have questions, Anya. artist@sandramarkwalder.com xoxo
