Fabulous Hats Of London Runway, SS2013.

Usually, I would first create a post about the hats of New York Fashion Week, but not this time. I was very disappointed by the lack of hats on New York runways  in general, but even more so I was very disappointed by the hats (sad little creatures) that were show here and there on New York runways with only one exception - hats created for Ralph Lauren by Patricia Underwood, absolutely loved the shape. I almost felt like American clothing designers have very little imagination when it comes to the accessories, more specifically hats, of course. Blend, boring and uninspiring .. So, this year I am skipping hats of NYFW and posting the hats, head pieces and fabulous millinery creations of London Fashion Week SS2013. In the first two days along London managed to show more hats than New York for the past two seasons.
No wonder, considering the fact that London is a home to so many phenomenal milliners and this Fashion Week served as another brilliant demonstration of beautiful millinery examples. I am still collecting the names of some designers (they will be added shortly). My top favorite hats were created by Stephen Jones for Meadham Kirchoff - almost fairy tale like boaters, by Stephen Jones for Giles and I absolutely loved the collection of hats created for Vivienne Westwood. The colors, the array of shapes, from simple to unique, I think London presented such a delicious display of hats, don't you agree? With that, I am wishing you fantastic weekend and leaving you to decide what are your favorite hats from London Fashion Week. :-)

Remembering Anna.

Anna Piaggi has passed away in August of 2012 at the age of 81.
Last week Milan said its proper Good-by to Anna Piaggi, a  lady whose personal style became a Legend. She was referred to as "an oracular Italian Fashion editor" of Italian Vogue and was known for her unbelievable, eccentric wardrobe which included unique pieces created almost 200 years ago, collection of shoes designed for her by Manolo Blahnik, endless array of fabulous hats designed for Anna by Stephen Jones, rare contemporary pieces. It was impossible not to notice Anna...
Recently, I caught myself thinking how disappointed I feel every time I look at the photo reports from global Fashion Weeks: there is very little Style itself and too much effort to follow "the latest and the newest". It always seems so forced, so disconnected and disposable to me. There are few precious eclectic faces I look forward to seeing every season and it saddens me to know that Anna is no longer here. In memory of  Anna Piaggi with great appreciation for her vivid sense of style and sense of self, I would like to share with you some of my favorite images of Anna through the years.I hope you will enjoy the selection.:-)
