After several amazing Fashion Week days in Paris, it feels great to come back to the beautiful editorial titled "In Full Bloom" featuring the hats of my Atelier in Tatler HK, March 2013 Issue. My Atelier has been overloaded with editorial requests for the past several months so much so I lost track of what is where. We are expecting some amazing editorials to come out this Spring and editorial in Tatler is one of those spectacular editorials to remind me once again what it is all about. It is all about beauty, of course. :-)
he Winter has been especially long this year and maybe because of it colorful, rich floras of this editorial make me wish for Spring even more. Editorial was styled by phenomenal Ise White and her super amazing team. :-) Three of my hats have been used to create a part of the story: "Petergof" hat seems to enjoy long playing spot light - several versions of "Petergof" in different colors have been photographed so many times, I lost count, but every time, with every new interpretation it looks fresh, new and even more chic than before. "Florentine" hat has been another favorite hat of many photographers. It has been photographed as a necklace and worn as a hat in so many different ways - the versatility and longevity of my own design exceeded all my expectations! Finally, "Frida" has her moment of glory in "In Full Bloom" editorial.
I hope you enjoy it, because I know I did. Editorial work is always difficult in so many ways. First of all it is difficult to obtain. It takes a lot to be noticed and considered. Once stylists start to request your hats it is, of course, hard not to get excited, but the truth and the matter is - there is no guarantee the hat will make it into magazine. It is a rule of thumb not to get excited until you actually see it in print. Finally, so much of editorial work depends on the quality of the stylist's vision. I had my share of disappointing editorials and this experience made me appreciate those stylist who have superb vision even more. Ise White is one of those stylist and I am always super excited to collaborate with Ise and her team. :-) Wishing all of you wonderful weal ahead. For me it will be all about getting back to the routing of the Atelier. I love my job! :-)
